In 1965, by merging the companies "Tara" Belgrade, "Investpromet", "Ogrev" Belgrade, "Drina" Uzice, "Metalkosmet" Pristina and "Invest" Nis, "KOPAONIK" was created.
During the development, the company invested its own funds
in the development of new construction material plants and
mines throughout Yugoslavia, such as: Mining and
Metallurgical Plant Zenica, cement plants: Split, Pula, Novi
Popovac, Beocin and Kosjeric, IGM "Trudbenik", "Toza
Markovic" Kikinda , "Potisje" Kanjiža, "Polet" Novi Bečej,
"Petrovaradin" and others. and thus grew into the largest
company in Yugoslavia in the field of its activity, and some
of the most important investment facilities that have been
sent under construction so far are: Hydroelectric Power
Plants "Zvornik", Perućac, Đerdap I and II, Thermal Power
Plant "Obrenovac", bridge " Gazela "in Belgrade, housing in
New Belgrade, Belgrade - Bar railway, Grand Hotel, National
Library, Sports Hall" Boro and Ramiz "in Pristina, road
economy, Fiat Car Factory Kragujevac, Andrićgrad in Visegrad
and many others.
The company overcame the most difficult moments of the
disintegration of Yugoslavia, embargo, hyperinflation, loss
of the most important foreign partners without significant
scars with its strength, material basis, personnel,
strategy, business policy and huge love of employees towards
its "Kopaonik".
